Health and Safety Fund

Health and safety is a priority for MacLaren and for our MacLaren families. Our 1960s building needs some major upgrades to maintain a safe learning environment for our students. Last year and over the summer, we prioritized three major projects. We are pleased to report that with your help we made significant progress and are no longer collecting donations toward this fund. Thank you! Here is a peek at the projects we tackled.

New Bleachers
Highlander fans of all ages may now enjoy the guard rails, ADA access, and greater seating capacity in the gym! Staff is very excited to be able to open and close the new bleachers at the touch of a button.

Outside, we have added another stand of bleachers to increase available seating for soccer games.

Parking lot and walkways
The parking lot has been resurfaced and new lines painted to help the flow of traffic and guide pedestrian traffic. Tripping hazards were mitigated on our sidewalks and walkways.

Updates to our grounds
A new windscreen around the soccer field provides more privacy and a wind barrier at games.

New mulch provides a safer landing surface for children playing on the playground.

New door handles and security cameras
We installed new interior-locking door handles on all classroom doors. Additional security cameras were also installed in key areas of our buildings.
