Snow Day as Distance Learning Day Schedule

The MacLaren Board of Directors approved a revised policy that allows us to use our remote learning capacity as an alternative to snow days.

We will make the decision on whether or not to use the remote learning option depending on the circumstances. If we think there's a reasonable chance we may have a distance learning day due to weather the following day, we will ask students at school to bring all their supplies home just in case.
  • If the inclement weather day is a traditional snow day, we will post "no in-person or distance learning".
  • If the inclement weather day will become a distance learning day, we will post that.  In the case that weather requires a distance learning day, the schedule will be as follows:

Lower School

Lower School students will follow the scheduled assignments and Zoom times for a typical Friday. The links can be found under the SCHEDULE tab on Google Classroom. The Zoom times are as follows:

  • 9:00-10:00 a.m. - Kindergarten and 1st Grade
  • 10:00-11:00 a.m. - 2nd and 3rd Grade
  • 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. - 4th and 5th Grade
Upper School

Upper School students will follow a modified school day schedule.  They should check their Google Classroom pages for assignments and possible Zoom classes between 9:00-9:30 a.m.  The first hour class will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.

If there is any question on a distance learning day, feel free to reach out directly to the classroom teacher (K-5) or Grade Level Lead (6-12)
